Born in Thessaloniki, Greece; Member of the Thessaloniki Bar Association from 1999 to 2010 and Member of the Athens Bar Association since 2010.
She is the Head of Finance & Capital Markets Team at Rokas (Athens) and a 23year capital market/securities market/energy financial market law expert lawyer having also an academic profile of more that 12 – years in the area of commercial and financial law (https://www.aueb.gr/en/faculty_page/tarnanidou-christina). She provides Senior quality legal services to various stakeholders / clients of the above sectors and has strong working experience in the financial sector as a legal counsel since 1999 in the capital markets regime.
She has consulted intensively for major listed firms, financial institutions (Greek and foreign), financial infrastructures (ADEX, ADECH, HELEX, ATHEX, ATHEXCSD, ATHEXClear, HENEX, EnExClear etc.) and industry bodies both in the public and private sector.
She has strong expertise in the regulatory affairs field and interacted with domestic and EU policy makers and regulatory authorities (including the Hellenic Capital Market Commission, European Securities & Markets Authority). She has also engaged with the Ministry of Finance.
She works with experts in the EU system (European Commission, European Central Bank, T2S) as appointed member in expert and working groups and has a long interaction and cooperation with multi-level professionals of the financial sector.
She has concluded compliance works mainly on MiFID II, CSDR, EMIR, SRDII, SFTR, Short Selling Regulation, Stock lending facilities, FCD, SFD that included reforms both at a contractual / documentational level of the client and at a regulatory level.
As regards the Energy Financial Sector she has the legal expertise of drafting the regulations of the Energy Exchange Market (Hellenic Energy Exchange, EnExClear) as well as of the energy financial markets in Greece. She has also concluded the work of the regulations of the Energy Market in Cyprus.
She has consulted PPC for its participation as a member of the Greek energy markets and concluded all contractual and documentation work for its compliance with the relevant energy laws and regulations (mainly related to REMIT, MiFID II, EMIR).
She has advised the Hellenic Energy Exchange and Cyprus Stock Exchange on energy market issues.
