Dr. Christina Tarnanidou (Partner) has concluded successfully under her Presidency in the Statutory Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Hellenic Republic, the Draft Law for the implementation of the CSDR into the Greek legal system
Our partner, Dr. Christina Tarnanidou, Assistant Professor of Commercial Law at Athens University of Economics and Business, has concluded successfully under her Presidency in the Statutory Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Hellenic Republic, the Draft Law for the implementation of the Regulation (EU) 909/2014 “on improving securities settlement in the European Union and on central securities depositories and amending Directives 98/26/EC and 2014/65/EU and Regulation (EU) 236/2012” (the so-called “CSDR”) into the Greek legal system.
The Draft Law includes rather important provisions on dematerialization and immobilization of securities for listed and non-listed issuers, property rights in such securities and relevant omnibus accounts as well as on other issues, such as shareholders rights, related to the above securities as will be held by the central securities depositories (CSDs) according to the Greek law in line with CSDR.
Dr. Tarnanidou is also a member of the expert group of the European Commission on securities and claims.
