Nick is one of the leading members of Rokas’ private insurance law and litigation practice, with more than 20 years of active litigation. He specialises as an expert litigator in private insurance law, capital markets, intellectual property, unfair competition, real estate, civil liability, contracts (franchising, leasing & factoring) handling complex contentious matters. Further expertise in national and international transport law (road, air, rail, sea) as well as in fire and motor accident cases.
He has been engaged in multiple litigations involving the shipwrecks of the Dystos and the Iron Antonis; Claims for D&O liability under a systemic bank’s BBB insurance policy; a series of approx. 400 trials on behalf of pharmaceuticals and a diagnostics corporation; a series of 154 recovery claims before the Administrative Courts, in relation to damages caused to private properties (shops, bank branches, coffee shops and restaurants) during protests in December 2008, introduced by the insurance companies, which compensated the damages, against the Greek State, which is being held liable for the inadequacy of the police measures taken to contain the outbursts of violence exhibited during the protests; numerous litigation cases concerning the recovery of the clients’ claims against debtors. He has also on several occasions appeared as an expert witness in litigation before English courts.
Nick also provides legal advice concerning insurance policies and their compliance with Greek law, as well as with general commercial agreements, while also being an active member of the Rokas team proceeding with legal due diligence projects.
