Rokas (Sofia), has managed for a first time in Bulgaria (two previous decisions to the adversary effect under similar claims have received lots of publicity) to achieve a first-instance decision providing that under certain, set out clearly and in advance conditions, a unilateral increase of the interest rate under the mortgage loans in the event of a significant deterioration of the economic situation in Bulgaria or abroad is permissible and compatible both with the national and the EU legislation on consumer protection.
